Practical information

… a pupil falls ill or has an accident?

Staff look after the pupil first: in an emergency, call 112, the European emergency number. One member of staff accompanies the pupil to the doctor or hospital; the others stay with the group. Take the medical form, travel document and health insurance card (EHIC or GHIC). Contact the school’s or parents’ assistance insurer, then us: we can help with adapted transport or an extended stay.

… a flight or train is delayed or cancelled?

Stay with the group and follow the carrier’s information. Contact us straight away: we will look for alternative transport and adjust accommodation or transfers if needed. EU passenger rights apply to flights; keep receipts for extra costs.

More on: What if something goes wrong on a school trip?

… there is a strike?

If a strike is announced, we monitor the situation and look for alternatives in advance, such as a different departure day, another means of transport or a coach. During the trip, we work out the best solution together.

… a travel document is lost or stolen?

Report it to the local police and contact your embassy or consulate for an emergency travel document. Let us know so we can help with the return journey. That is why it is wise to carry copies of all travel documents.

More on: What if something goes wrong on a school trip?

… the situation at the destination changes?

Follow the instructions of the local authorities and your government’s travel advice. If unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances significantly affect the trip, package travel law provides specific rights. We always discuss the options with the school.
